Montana Clerks of District Court

The Local Government Center works with the Montana Association of Clerks of District Court to provide a certification program for district clerks. This 3-day program is conducted every four years and is supplemented with additional training at the MACDC annual convention. After completion of 40 hours of training, the district clerk receives the designation of Certified Clerk of District Court from the MSU Local Government Center.

Professional competence as a certified clerk of district court requires that an individual possess and be able to apply certain knowledge, skills, and abilities in the daily performance of his or her duties. Subject areas include:
